The Republic of Myanmar is inhabited by different ethnic groups. More than a half of the country belongs to the Bamar while more than 90% of the population professes itself a Buddhist. However, other groups like the Shan, the Kachin, the Chin, the Rakhine, the Intha, the Mon, the Kokang and the Rohingya, are also considered as major ethnicities.
